Community-based mental health services offer individuals who need mental health support the opportunity to receive care in the communities where they live. Maryland has been at the forefront of providing access to these services, both in terms of the types of services that are licensed and funded within the state and in terms of promoting partnerships between clinicians and traditional businesses. We have seen a boom in the number of community-based mental health providers operating across the state, particularly in the highly populated Baltimore metropolitan area. We are happy to see increased access to community-based mental health services and facilities. However, we know that the quality of care received is vital to achieving positive mental health outcomes. And we have learned from working with providers in communities across the state that there continues to be a need to support them in understanding and achieving the best clinical and business outcomes.
